About MYEO

Myanmar Youth Empowerment Opportunities (MYEO) is a social impact-driven edtech. Our mission is to equip all of Myanmar’s new graduates with the skills to be valuable members of the workforce and community.


Youths in Myanmar are in a vulnerable employment situation, either unemployed or underemployed. At the same time, organizations in Myanmar urge more qualified employees, particularly for jobs in the new economy.


Despite the challenges in work conditions for youth and low skilled workforce, Myanmar presents an encouraging opportunity on the adoption of mobile technology: +20 million people in the country use Facebook or Messenger. To seize that opportunity, MYEO has created a mobile-based online solution that nurtures youth employability and paves the way to build a high-skilled workforce for organizations in Myanmar.


MYEO has a team of +30 people, with experience in technology, education, marketing and data analysis. Since 2014, the startup has been impacting the lives of thousands of youths in Myanmar, including +12,000 youths trained exclusively online, +50,000 youths using MYEO's learning chatbots and +130,000 youths engaging with MYEO's Facebook community.


About the Business Development Manager role

MYEO's Business Development Manager is the leader behind all new business opportunities in the organization, including new B2B commercial deals, grants and strategic partnerships. S/he will lead and coach a small team of business development analysts that prospect companies, NGOs, donors, universities that will benefit from MYEO's services while being responsible for prospecting their own leads.


This person must be driven by providing value to other organizations through innovative services, disciplined to constantly seek new organizations that can benefit from MYEO's services and follow up every new lead, enjoy being in a fast-paced, rapidly changing startup environment and be both eager to learn from and teach other team members.

Key activities

  • Closely mentoring the members of the business development team, including one-to-one weekly calls and ongoing daily advice for their personal and professional growth

  • Study the Myanmar market, doing research and talking to people to understand their needs and suggest new MYEO's services for organizations

  • Seeking to close new B2B deals, making sure MYEO is on track to reach its annual B2B revenue goals, increasing MYEO's B2B sales performance

  • Working as a team for business planning and strategy design and being an engine to drive revenue growth and perform activities benefiting the business growth.

  • Craft proposals and review your team's proposals for sending to potential clients, persuasively describing MYEO's services and securing proper profitability in each deal

  • Responsible for building strong relationships between Grants, External Stakeholders & Internal Shareholders and making sure the retention of long-term relationship strategies.

  • Meticulously follow up every opportunity in the pipeline, and being a radar for every new opportunity available on B2B deals, grants and partnerships

  • Being a 24/7 owner of the business development online pipeline tool, generating the potential clients leads, making sure all information is updated and available for the whole MYEO to consult

  • Work closely with Marketing, Education, Tech and Management teams and  provide advice on new products, services that could be launched, based on feedback from customers

  • Any duties assigned subject to management decisions.


Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in business development activities, understanding needs, prospecting and closing deals with other organizations

  • Previous experience setting up and managing online tools for business development pipeline, such as Trello, Pipedrive, Salesforce, ClickUp etc. is a plus

  • Previous experience working with education, corporate training and human resources-related services is a plus

  • Fluent in Burmese and English languages
