 Manage the implementation of SCI’s emergency Child Protection response activities in Rakhine


 Support the implementation and if necessary further development of referral mechanisms for

managing child protection concerns at camp and host community level as well as with local


 Work with CM advisor to finalize development of case management work and implementation

of the CP-IMS in Rakhine.

 Take the lead in building an integrated, community-based approach to Child Protection applicable

to the Rakhine context.

 Prepare work plans and oversee project implementation to ensure timely delivery of project

activities, including through strengthening the development of feasible work plans, monitoring

and evaluation practices, development of individual performance management work plans, and

routine visits to project sites

 Continue to develop understanding and experience of children’s meaningful participation

throughout the programmes, and work with programme staff and partners on strategies to enable

children to identify and address the issues of concern to them and promote their voices in local,

national and regional fora as appropriate

 Lead and coordinate with sector lead, HOP and technical advisors on the finalization of a CP

related survey, assessment and evaluation for CPiERakhine State.

 Appropriately mobilize and train Child Protection Workforces including partner staffs in relation

to child protection issues at large as well as above mentioned case management.

 Continue working on the provision of psychosocial services to children in Rakhine through CFSs

and finalize transition to post –CFS activities.

 Develop, train and mentor colleagues in child protection work, staff and budget management and

project development, actively seeking opportunities to build capacity of staff and partners

 Build relationships and work with the relevant stakeholders and counterparts to support the

strengthening of a national child protection system, where appropriate.

 Coordinate with CPiE advisor in developing and supervising emergency programme staff activities

in relation to child protection and regularly monitor and evaluate their progress.

 Facilitate to field team for program adaption at both activity and approach based on changes in

situations in the ground.

 Ensure effective coordination within child protection and Livelihood program staffs and cross

program staff to implement integrated project

 Assist HOP and SL during proposal development process and amendment process

 Closely coordinate with SPM for day to day support for implementation and cluster

representative as appropriate

 Coordinate and collaborate with other program for implementation of the integrated program

 Strengthen MEAL system by coordination with area MEAL coordinator

 Maintain awareness of the operating context and ensure that programmes adhere to Do No

Harm principles, remain conflict sensitive and non-biased, and develop strategies to address

gender and disability discrimination.

 Actively participate in relevant sector meetings, humanitarian forums and co-ordination meetings.

 Represent Save the Children on child protection issues, identifying opportunities to advocate

SCI’s position on the rights of the child through exchange of information, negotiation and


 Initiate and develop good diplomatic working relations with national government authorities, UN

agencies and partner NGOs.

 Produce high quality and timely reports for Save the Children and donors within agreed


 Design, adapt implement and maintain child protection monitoring procedures and information

systems and ensure that child protection staff are trained for their data collection and monitoring



 Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

 Fluency English and Myanmar and communication skills, both written and verbal.

 Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s mission, vision and values.

 Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.

 At least five years of experience on child protection mainly on Case Management,

Community Based Child Protection Mechanisms, Child Friendly Spaces.

 Willingness and capability to comply with all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures

with respect to health and safety, security, equal opportunities and other relevant policies,

including the Child Safeguarding Policy
