Job Description/Requirements

Role and responsibilities

The following is a brief description of the role.

Generic responsibilities

1. Coordinate the education in emergency activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets and


2. Ensure adherence to NRC policies and donor requirements

3. Involve and inform communities and community leaders about the activities

4. Break down the annual operational plans into weekly, monthly and quarterly implementation


5. Coordinate with relevant partners

6. Ensure that procurement, development and distribution of materials and equipment are timely

and according to procedures

7. Supervise, train and develop team

8. Prepare periodic progress reports, statistics and other documents as required

9. Investigate and facilitate introduction of new technology, methods and approaches in order to

improve the quality of the activities

Specific responsibilities

 Collect data for education program implementation and work closely with EIE team

 Contextualize recreational handbook

 Schedule training time and conduct recreational activities with children

 Conduct assessments related to education needs and gaps

 Work closely with shelter team for EIE and PSS integration for emergency response

 Engaging with parents in education activities for under Keep Learning Campaign

 Ensure complaint documents for program are addressed

 Act as interpreter when required and translate documents as needed.

Context related skills, knowledge and experience (shall be adapted to the specific position):

 Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized university

 Experience in implementing Education in Emergency Activities is preferred

 Advanced computer skills, communication skills, adaptable and resourceful

 Local, international NGOs, UN agencies or government, CSO or volunteer experience is preferred

 Strong knowledge of local context

 Ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision

 Ability and willingness to work and live under difficult circumstances with lots of travel

 Flexible, creative and co-operative
