Specific responsibilities of Finance Intern
A. Transaction processing:
i) Review of the documents submitted for payment. Follow up to relevant staff for supporting document and information as required.
ii) Prepare vouchers for the payment and advance settlement
iii) For each payment, check the supporting documents and authorization is maintained as per WAMM accounts manual.
iv) Support Line Manager in timely booking of monthly expenses and income received.
v) Support in payment to the regular consultants, volunteers and other regular contracts e.g. guard service, internet etc.
vi) Prepare detail of voucher in excel to post in system
vii) Staff advance tracking and follow up for the timely settlement
viii) Maintain the filling of WAMM vouchers and supporting documents timely, securely and in an organized manner.
B. Cash and bank management:
i) Payment of petty cash expenses as per the policy and maintain cash book on real time basis.
ii) Prepare bank ledger on real time basis or as per requirement.
iii) Perform cash count on weekly basis.
iv) Visit bank for various work like deposit, withdrawal, bank statement.
v) Call to vendors for payment confirmation
1. Support Finance Team in various work like monthly closure, document copy and scan, audit etc.
2. Visit to field for support if required. Support program team during major payments in the fields.
3. Other work as assigned by her/his supervisor.
Qualifications and Experiences:
§ Any preferable bachelor degree holder
§ Understanding of culture and regulations for INGO’s in Myanmar and willing to work in INGO.
§ Demonstrated ability to carry assigned tasks thoroughly, pleasantly, professionally and without close supervision.
§ Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, in English and Burmese languages.
§ Proficient in using word, excel, PowerPoint and email, internet.
§ Willing to learn new finance-related IT systems and procedures, software etc.
