Job Description/Requirements

. Functional Responsibilities:

Finance Officer shall be responsible for performing the following duties:

• Prepare accounts by compiling and analyzing account information, ensuring that financial

discrepancies are reconciled.

• Accurately document financial transactions.

• Summarize current financial status by gathering data; preparing balance sheets and other

financial reports as required accurately and in detail.

• Ensure that financial transactions are properly authorized, recorded and have adequate

supporting documentation which can be easily extracted for the purpose of preparing

financial statements.

• Support coordination with external auditors prior to and during audit.

• Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures for

Finance team use and across CDNH, ensuring that financial regulations and legislation is

adhered to.

• Enter all transactions in QuickBooks Accounting System.

• Physically check cash balance against cash book (daily).

• Maintain appropriate hard copy and electronic files of all financial transactions.

• Follow-up all operational advances pending to ensure that they are addressed in a timely

way.

• Perform physical check of inventory of project assets (bi-annually).

Required minimum years of specific work experience

• Bachelor degree (LCCI, Diploma, Accounting) (highly experienced candidates with lower

educational qualifications may be considered).

• At least two years of experience of working in a financial/accountancy role in NGO sector.
