Job Description/Requirements

Dimensions of Role:

 Take the focal role in ensuring that country gender roadmap and strategy will be

implemented in programme unit level, closely working with gender ambassadors and

programme unit manager in coordination with gender specialist for organizational change

 Ensure that staff are bringing a gender lens to their outreach to communities in the areas

where the projects are operating, aiming to be gender transformative,

 Participate in designing the project to be gender transformative and support project

implementation, providing on-going capacity building to the project teams, which include

training, mentoring, gender responsive monitoring and evaluation, gender analysis,

identification of lessons learned and ongoing improvement of project implementation as


 Consistently assist the project teams to integrate gender transformative approach into

implementation plans and activities

 Engage in advocacy initiatives together with stakeholders and network with relevant NGOs

and institutions in state level to influence government policies/legislation and its


Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

 Good negotiating skills, Conceptual and analytical skills

 Good problem solving, Planning and monitoring, Coaching, mentoring, training and

facilitation skills

 Ability to maintain strategic vision and link with everyday work

 Clear and effective communication that builds relationships in order to influence others

 Proactive, demonstrates record of creativity and entrepreneurship

 Accountability and responsibility for own performance, Promotes team work and


 Demonstrate high degree of professionalism and integrity

 Confident in taking initiative and exploring new opportunities

 Willingness to travel to remote areas

 At least three years of progressive work related extensive experience in gender

transformative programming context, Strong experience of gender integration in

humanitarian issues, including facilitate training and project monitoring

 Strong understanding and passion for coordination of team members

 Experience utilizing computers including word processing, spreadsheet and other software


 Experience working in relevant internationally supported humanitarian and development

projects (preferred)

 Gender related academic background would be an asset.
