HR & Industrial Relations Manager

Position - HR & Industrial Relations Manager Report to - CEO, Group Head of HR

Job Description/Requirements


Labor Relation

·         Establish and maintain a strong and healthy relationship with all staff including internal stakeholders

·         Ensure grievances are properly tracked and addressed effectively

·         Develop and ensure healthy work relationships and a supportive atmosphere at the workplace

·         Provide advice for department managers on how to deal with employees, most of all extraordinary situations

·         Build strong and healthy relationship with township labor office and social security office

·         Ensure the company is operating its human resources in full compliance with existing labor law

·         Manage dispute resolutions involving unions, management, employees or government authorities, etc.

·         Research on labor laws, healthcare regulations, best practices, etc. and advise Management and Managers

·         Prepare and submit documents required by township labor office

·         Help staff in the Social Security Claimants

Recruitment & Selection

·         Work with HODs and develop Manpower Plan on annual basis and adjust as required

·         Manage all activities of Recruitment & Selection Process which includes conducting job analysis, screening, interviewing, conducting background checks,             selecting, onboarding, process probationary, etc.

·         Build Internal & external talent pools

·         Manage exit process

·         Build strong relationship with recruitment firms

Information Circulation & Reporting

·         Maintain HR dashboard and produce reports on monthly basis and share the related portion to HODs for their awareness

·         Produce other HR reports as needed from time to time 

Policy Implementation

·         Design, propose and implement HR policies, system, procedures, templates and ensure communication reaches to all staff and provide guidance

·         Enforce HR Policies and provide guidance 

Engagement & Activities

·         Support in implementation of HR Programs and manage its activities throughout the year

·         Conduct and engage in organizational activities & programs to enhance human resource and organizational capacity for greater performance

·         Take part in producing monthly newsletter

Performance Management

·         Support in implementation of Performance Management system and manage its activities

·         Work with HODs and Managers to ensure established JDs and KPIs reflect the actual ground situation and update as needed

·         Provide HR advice and guidance to Managers in managing Employees


·         Support Group HR in delivering training programs

External Audits

·         Prepare and maintain HR QMS standards

·         Prepare and facilitate ISO audit process and other audits conducted by Principal Businesses on annual basis


·         Support the development of HSE Policies and programs

·         Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures under the guidance of GM-Operations

·         Promote safety initiatives and organize HSE training of employees

·         Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity

·         Conduct regular inspections

·         Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerious or unhealthy

·         Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker’s compensation claims

·         Prepare reports on occurences and provide statistical information to Management


Other HR Duties

·         Prepare HR Letters and announcements in both English & Myanmar languages

·         Support Group HR Head in HR digitization projects


·         Ability to be discrete and keep confidential information

·         Creative thinking & ability to resolve problems using root cause analysis and take into consideration of consequences

·         Has maturity and ability to listen as well as the ability to understand people’s background and motives

·         Ability to present information and bargain with employees and Managers from different levels

·         Knowledge of HSE requirements in factory environment

·         Excellent written and oral communication skills

·         Strong interpersonal communication skills

·         Ability to multi-task

·         Excellent negotiating and mediation skills

·         A business partner mindset (interest in learning about how business works and not limit only in HR circle)

·         Ability to challenge and make things right

·         Fluency in both English and Myanmar languages

·         An Internationally recognized HRM Diploma (ABE or Equivalent)

·         Proven experience as HR Manager for minimum 2 years in a large organization (preferably in manufacturing industry)

·         Experience in preparing and operating under ISO or similar standards

·         Computer literate and proficient in MS Office Suite and Computer skills
