Nutrition Technical Officer (PIN)

Job Summary

Location: Mrauk U, Rakhine State Line Manager: MHF Project Manager

Job Description/Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

 Assist and participate in the planning process of the project nutrition activities to ensure

achieving the project output and objectives

 Prepare the training manuals in line with National Nutrition Guidelines and conduct trainings on

IYCF, Mother Support Group Facilitation, MUAC screening and nutrition-related topics to PIN

and partner staff and/or community volunteers

 Support the implementation of assessments to identify the needs, vulnerabilities and capacities

of beneficiaries

 Provide technical support, capacity building and coaching regarding nutrition activities to the

field staff

 Assist the Emergency Project Manager in implementing the nutrition in the proposed project

area

 Field visit to project areas to mentor the communities if needed

 Design appropriate monitoring and evaluation tools and train the team on data collection

 Analyses M&E information and suggest corrective measures in a timely manner

 Collaborate closely with M&E Officer and Emergency Program Manager on donor reporting and

cluster reporting

 Communicates with stakeholders such as government authorities (including MoHS, SHD, NNC,

Township Health Departments and others), health and nutrition CSOs and INGOs, health and

nutrition clusters and clusters‘ members, trainers and resource persons (in coordination with

Area Manager and MHF Project Manager)

 Facilitates and supports communication with the partner, local authorities and community

leaders to discuss community needs and project objectives to build strong relationships

 Support relevant actors (partners, community leaders, authorities) in understanding project

objectives and carrying out activities according to the strategy and plan developed

 Make sure the communication flow with the partner organization is continuous and of good

quality

 Participate actively in the procurement process

 Support the functionality of PIN’s Complaint Response Mechanism (CRM) in collaboration with

the FO, listen to the concerns of the community and communicate them to the Area Manager.

 Monthly report to the Line Manager according to report format

 Translation during meetings and trainings

 To conduct her/himself both professionally and personally according to PIN’s Code of Conduct

and project Working Agreements

 Other tasks as assigned by Line Manager

Qualifications

 High level qualification, preferably in nutrition or in another relevant field such as nursing,

midwifery, doctor, community-based training.

 Very good working knowledge of English (spoken and written).

Experience / Competencies

 5 years post-qualification professional experience, including a strong experience in managing

Nutrition / Health activities

 Previous experience in livelihoods, CMAM and MIYCN programming with NGO or UN

 Knowledge of humanitarian principles, Sphere and HAP Standards and other international

protocols

 Good numerical, report writing and administration skills

 Ability to manage activities remotely

 Good training skills and ability for capacity building

 Team-player with good inter-personal skills
