Program Officer (CHAI Myanmar)

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities

Project implementation

 Serve as the focal point for daily interactions related to the programmatic activities and training dissemination

 Support NHCP with CHAI project related NHCP activities as required

 Organize monitoring meetings and continuous communication with members of the technical working group as

required

 Ensure achievement of project milestones as agreed with the donor and within approved budget

 Write a progress report and submit to Program Manager on regular basis and as required

 Support development and monitoring of program budgets and workplans

Technical input

 Provide technical support to project staff and partners on hepatitis

 Organize and facilitate trainings on above mentioned subjects

 Disseminate information and material from the HQ technical unit

 Organize workshops and specific working sessions following the launching of the activities depending on the

team and project needs.

Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in public health or related health science or equivalent experience

 At least 3 years of professional experience in a demanding and results-driven environment

 Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Burmese, with the ability to prepare compelling

presentations

 Ability to absorb and synthesize a broad range of information, including technical information on HBV and HCV

 Exceptional problem-solving skills and quantitative and qualitative analytical capabilities

 Ability to work on straight forward problems without extensive support

 Strong diplomacy, interpersonal and communication skills and ability to build and nurture relationships with a

range of stakeholders in a challenging multicultural environment

 Efficiency in negotiating and achieving consensus among a range of stakeholders

 Ability to manage numerous work streams simultaneously

 Ability to multi-task and to be effective in high-pressure situations

 Excellent understanding of MS Office with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
