About the role The PPO position is envisaged to lead the ECHO supported humanitarian response project in Budhidaung. The position will be part of the Christian Aid country team and will demonstrate leadership role in ensuring effective programme delivery, compliance and ensuring VfM. The position will be based either in Budhidaung (Rakhine State) and will oversee the project implementation in the township. The position will work very closely with local partner and provide accompaniment support and supervision of the implementation. The position will work in close coordination with other CA team members based in Rakhine and Yangon. 

About you

Christian Aid Myanmar (CAM) has been working with local partners on humanitarian response

and resilience across the country including in Rakhine. In regard to the ongoing crises and

resultant humanitarian needs, PPO will be supporting local partners to implement time bound

humanitarian assistance programme in affected townships in Rakhine.

The PPO will be overall responsible to coordinate and ensure that the ECHO supported project

Communities at the Centre: Enabling First Line Emergency Responses in Rakhine is implemented

in RatheDaung, Buthidaung, Maugdaw, Mrauk U, Ann, Kyauk Taw, Myaebone.

This action will enable local communities to design and utilise responsible, adaptable and

accountable responses to crises – community- and women-led responses as dynamic and

incisive as the conflict-induced crises are destabilising and unpredictable. The project focuses on

three components: 1) Local actors’ skills, capacities and knowledge are enhanced to lead

responsibly managed, women-led first-line emergency responses; 2) Township contingency and

response plans based on locally-led risk analysis established; and 3) Front Line Emergency

Response system designed and implemented. The position will work closely with project

stakeholders, local partners, CA team base in Rakhine and Yangon. This role will be responsible

support and ensure that the project objectives are achieved with quality on time. S/He will build

the capacity of the partner staffs and volunteers to ensure quality implementation of the response

programme. The post holder will support partners’ humanitarian accountability and protection

capacity through the development of guidelines, training, and ensuring compliances while

supervising protection interventions within the ECHO funded project. The role is able to contribute

to or lead, depending on the level, development of a protection strategy that is pragmatic and

solutions-oriented and based on a consultative process with multi-functional teams and partners.

It is expected that the position will engage with other actors and stakeholders including donors,

government and clusters at townships and State level in Rakhine. The position will work in close

coordination with M&E Officer; Senior Humanitarian Programme Officer, Protection and

Partnership Officer, and Senior Programme Finance Officer who are based in Rakhine and
