General and task management 

  1. Manage all quality-related issues within the manufacturing team (e.g internal, supplier, customer warranty) identify root cause and instigate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues. 
  2. Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality and safety standards. 
  3. Carry out product and process auditing 
  4. Ensure control plans and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained. 
  5. Monitoring and report on quality-related key performance indicators including scrap monitoring, rework levels, parts per million (PPM) figures. 
  6. Stop production in the event of manufacture of unacceptable goods/processes 
  7. Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to Quality Management system (TS16949/ISO9001)
  8. Write product test procedures. 
  9. Undertake special projects as required
  10. Assist with training of quality awareness 
  11. Report on (KPI) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process system. 
  12. Assist with first off sample approvals. 
  13. Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Six-sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement system analysis. 
  14. Participate in cross-functional teams in the development of new products or changes related to current products in meeting customer requirements.
  15. Participate in the development and refinements of Design and process FMEA's (Faliure mode effects analysis). 
  16. Manage the supplier KPI. 
  17. Manage and coordinate customer PPM, supplier problem solving on time, cost recovery and supplier warranty indicators. 
  18. Lead quality audits. 
  19. Keep up with current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends that concerns product quality
  20. Undertake special projects as required. 
  21. Contribute to continuous improvements activities. 
  22. Quality control of work by appropriate reviews. 
  23. Support and lead process improvements activities. 
  24. Write reports and present progress at project meetings and to clients. 
  25. Achieve goals within budget. 
  26. Conduct bench marking studies to determine best practices / design and future trends 
  27. Plan projects or subtasks so they may be tracked and presented. 
  28. Attend various meetings and actions / communicate instructions 
  29. Produce written reports and make presentations. 
  30. Undertake continuous training and development 
  31. Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems. 
  32. Independently determine approach and assigned tasks. 

Job Requirements

  1. Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing / engineering degree preferred, or equivalent. 
  2. Membership of an industry related Professional body would be advantageous 
  3. Previous experiences in a high volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive. 
  4. Experience of working in Quality Assurance 
  5. Six Sigma/ Lean Manufacturing skills
  6. Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers. 
  7. Automotive Knowledge.

  1. Exercise substantial / judgment in work methods and interpreting goals. 
  2. Work independently and is reviewed infrequently with minimal supervision. 
  3. Self-supervising within the guidance and expectations of divisional management. 
  4. Knowledge of quality systems and measurement. 
  5. Strong knowledge of advanced product quality planning (APQP), Production part approval process (PPAP), failure mode effect analysis (FMEA)
  6. Lean Manufacturing knowledge 
  7. Knowledge of TS16949 and ISO9000
  8. Understanding of ISO14001 and Health and safety practices. 
  9. Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes. 
  10. Ability to work in an diverse and dynamic environment 
  11. Planning and prioritising activities. 
  12. Good communication and interpersonal skills. 
  13. Negotiation skills. 
  14. Ability to present data effectively 
  15. Problem solving skills. 
  16. Team working skills. 
  17. Analytical skills.
