JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of the ICT Teacher is to provide a balanced curriculum and maintain the progress of all class members through the relevant subject at a pace suitable to their age and development and use appropriate skills and techniques of differentiation. To develop the ICT curriculum so that it continues to be relevant to students' ; and teachers' ; use of ICT. To assess students' ; work and guide them towards achieving appropriate qualifications according to the IGCSE syllabus.


Roles and Responsibilities

 Teach across all levels and abilities. Pride ISM School follows the CAIE IGCSE course and A level course

 Develop, maintain and stimulate pupils’ curiosity, interest and enjoyment in ICT

 Enable all pupils to have equal access to ICT and to experience success in their work

 Develop pupils’ familiarity, competence and confidence with appropriate ICT concepts, principles, methods and vocabulary

 Provide challenge for every pupil and to encourage all pupils to achieve their potential in ICT

 Make a contribution to and engage in extra-curricular in computing (e.g. Robot club)

 Share in departmental best practice

 Willingness to invest extra time to ensure students achieve the best standard

 Willingness to help out with departmental responsibilities


CRITERIA


QUALIFICATIONS:

 Qualified to relevant degree or relevant subject


EXPERIENCE:

 Good experience of teaching IGCSE and/or A level in ICT

 Proven good record of teaching experience

 Experience of being part of a highly successful department and school

 Good classroom management and interpersonal skills

 Raising attainment level


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

 Excellent oral and written communication skills

 Knowledge of a range of pedagogic approaches to cater for different learning styles

and ensure that all students are engaged

 Up-to-date subject knowledge

 Understanding of what constitutes effective teaching for learning

 The capacity to form positive learning-centered relationships with young people from a diverse range of backgrounds

 Excellent classroom practitioner (or potential to be)

 Flexible approach and readiness to respond to individual pupil needs
