Senior Health Specialist (World Vision)

Job Summary

This position is to ensure program quality, consistency and relevance of WVM’s Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN) and other health related interventions in Area Development Programmes and Projects.

  • Minimum Qualification: Bachelor

Job Description/Requirements

Key responsibilities

 Health Technical Advisor assisted to develop and regularly update the WVM MNCHN Technical Approach

and Technical Programme to Zones and Area Programs.

 Annual technical support plan for health projects developed and implemented together with Zones and Aps.

 Ongoing coaching provided to staff involved in implementing and supporting MNCHN interventions at zonal

and AP level partnership.

 Provide overall coaching technically and programmatically to grants including MNCH, Nutrition and TB

grants in assigned zones.

 Assistance provided to the preparation of Technical Programme Report and Child Wellbeing Report.

 Assist Health Technical Advisor in developing Concept Note and proposals.

 Capacity of field-level staff and volunteers strengthened to monitor and evaluate MNCHN and Health

Related interventions.

 Promote sector knowledge management and information sharing (e.g. through newsletters, PMIS/ Horizon

and Shar’nLearn).

 Proactively liaised with key government, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and UN-agencies at

Central level for advocacy, shared learning.

 Worked with Asia Pacific Regional Office and Global Centre team to obtain updates and technical support

Booth Show activities in national level launching activities.

 AOB assigned by Health Technical Advisor.

Require knowledge and skills

 M.B.B.S degree holder with at least 3 years of experience in public health.

 Public health related master degree holders are preferred.

 Nutrition related trainings accepted by INGOs, UNs and MOHS.

 In-depth knowledge on programme design, monitoring and evaluation

 In-depth knowledge on Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) and Linkages between Nutrition and other

Health and Development interventions

 Excellent written and oral communication skills (English/Burmese)
