Senior RFL Field Officer (ICRC)

Job Description/Requirements

Main responsibilities

▪ Acts as a focal point for all RFL matters

▪ Is responsible for the smooth running of the daily Tracing activities

▪ Plans, Implements and reports on RFL activities

▪ Ensures the coherence and respect of RFL policies and procedures.

▪ Contributes to the definition of RFL strategy and to the update of guidelines and procedures.

▪ Contributes to the analysis of the security, socio-economic, cultural and political environment

relevant to the ICRC and shares relevant information with colleagues, reports any change in the


▪ Contributes to the design and the implementation of multidisciplinary activities

▪ Collects and compiles, translates/interprets RFL related information, prepares written reporting

▪ Plans, organizes and reports, internal and external meetings.

▪ Develops, maintains and organizes contacts with authorities at municipal/regional level,

local/regional RC branches, population, suppliers etc.

▪ Organizes the sustainability and the institutional filing of her/his work.

▪ Provides briefing and technical support to staff involved in RFL activities

▪ Might be requested to be in charge of additional RFL files;

▪ Supervises staff

▪ Is responsible for conducive environment (multidisciplinary approach, team dynamics) among team

members and with other departments.

▪ Leads one or several thematic files at the level of the delegation

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and

independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and

dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with

assistance. The ICRC also endeavors to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening

Requirements and experience

▪ University degree in a relevant discipline.

▪ At least 2 years’ work experience in a relevant field.

▪ Excellent communication skills, and fluency in written and spoken English as well as Myanmar


▪ Previous ICRC experience is a strong asset, particularly in protection and detention work.

▪ Good understanding of the armed conflict dynamic affecting Rakhine State and Chin State and its

humanitarian consequences
