Team leader (access to health) (mam)

Job Description/Requirements

Key Objectives and Responsibilities in general

Operational Management

 Responsible in quality program implementation in accordance with Access to Health grant

strategic action plans and in close coordination with MAM’s existing malaria and HIV team for a

successsful integration of activities

 To assist in developing work plan, monitoring and evaluation of MAM’s Access to Health project

activities in accordance project strategic action plan

 To provide technical support to community volunteers and BHS involved in the project, on

implementing Access to Health project activities (MNCH, EPI, Nutrition, SRHR)

 To actively lead volunteer recruitment (AMW/CHW) from targeted villages as per government

volunteer recruitment guideline

 To monitor project activities including drugs and commodity management for volunteers,

management of referral payments, budget and timelines, notify Township Health Coordinators and

Township Medical Coordinators when issues arise, and take corrective actions as needed

 To support on strengthening of community stakeholders (establishment of village health

committees

(VHC), management of emergency referral system and emergency referral fund (where

applicable), etc

 To organize meetings and trainings of BHS, volunteers and VHCs

 To lead mobile clinic plan and activities in collaboration with MAM’s existing malaria and HIV teams

 To negotiate with implementing partners (government and non-government).

 To represent the project at a township and village level

MAM requires:

To be successful in this role you must have:

Education : Community Health or other relevant health professional degree. Medical

doctor degree (with SAMA) is a strong advantage;

Experience : At least 1-2 years of professional working experience in setting up and

implementation of health related humanitarian programs (preferably MNCH, EPI,

Nutrition and/or SRHR/ASRHR); Experience working with Ministry of Health and

Sport particularly at Township, Rural Health Centre and Sub-rural Health Centre

levels;

Language : Fluent in English, Myanmar;

Specifications : Willing to travel in remote areas under difficult circumstances (motor

bikes, boats, foots). Able to advocate and negotiate with government bodies and

other stakeholders; Firm, flexible, open and decisive; Hard working, accept

flexible hours and able to work independently.
