The consultant will also focus on some of these partners to mainstream a basic protection package intervention and will focus on service mappings, awareness raising, and referral support, and psychological first aid (PFA) training focusing on strengthening community-based protection.

This protection package aims to be deliverable and adapted to Rakhine’s difficult operational
context. It focuses on:
1. Mapping of existing referral pathways will be conducted, in coordination with the National Protection Cluster and Sub-Clusters.
2. Awareness sessions on protection and services will be carried out in all targeted locations. Information will cover women's rights, Gender and addressing GBV, addressing sexual harassment, abuse and exploitation (SHEA) and related information on service available and how to access services. Awareness meetings with local authorities, community leaders, churches and local development associations, women's groups, young people will be organized in the targeted areas. Awareness Raising activities will be done directly by AA and CA and conducted in public places in the communities, information is disseminated verbally and through IEC materials.
3. A training on Psychological First Aid (PFA) and safe referrals will be provided to all staff engaged in the response, to ensure humane, supportive and practical help to children and adults in distress.
4. When a case has been identified by the community or project staff, they will be referred to the relevant specialized service provider based on the referral mapping conducted. This includes cases of support to access civil documentation, by referring the person to actors who can support on this access. Additional support across protection vulnerabilities will be provided in close coordination with the service provider, and will be in the form of accommodation, travel and per-diem etc.
Objectives of the Work The purpose of this consultancy is to:
• Provide a basic on protection, with a focus on GBV, to all of the partners involved in the project, either remotely or in person depending on Covid-19 restrictions.
• Support the implementing partners to carry out the initial protection activities of the program following the basic they will have received previously from AAM, which focus on (1) awareness (2) legal rights (3) GBV (4) Risks associated with COVID-19 (5) safety planning and (6) referral mechanisms. The initial trainings that have been provided were foundational and the consultant will be required to assess the existing capacities and develop further training plans as required.
• Coordinate with the Rakhine Protection Working Group on updating referral mapping, monthly cluster meetings, and the protection monitoring of targeted areas. The consultant will take on this key coordination roles on protection related activities with both local and international coordination mechanisms.
• Provide ongoing support to the local partners with a plan to adapt and roll out the protection activities in the program listed above (awareness sessions in communities, referral mapping and SoPs, training of community protection focals, referrals etc.) ensuring that they are of high quality and accessible.
Scope of Work, Specific Duties and Responsibilities, Schedule of Work
Provide detailed workplan for ongoing technical support on Child and Women protection to the local local partners. The workplan must be the result of coordination with the main stakeholders, including AAM staff and partners. Five days Coordinate with the Protection Working Group and other relevant actors on updating referral mapping, monthly cluster meetings and all other coordination mechanisms. Five days a month Provide ongoing support to the three local partners to ensure that all protection activities in the program (awareness sessions in communities, remote psycho-social support, monitoring of quarantine centers, referral mapping and SoPs, training of community protection focals etc.) are of high quality and up to cluster standards. Qualification Requirement
• Fluent in Burmese. Fluency in Rakhine is considered a significant advantage.
• Professional proficiency in English; • Over 4 years’ technical experience working on protection programs in Myanmar and in Rakhine, including on women’s and child protection, with local and/or international actors.
• Experience working with local partners in Rakhine and/or other conflict affected areas in Rakhine.
• Experience conducting toT with local CSOs on protection curricula
• Have excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to working in collaboration and partnership;
• Have accuracy, attention to detail, motivation and ability to meet deadlines;
• Good computer skills;
• Preference will be given to candidates who are currently based in Myanmar.
