From 1954-1960, Mr. Kubota was principally involved in the planning, design and construction of the BaluchaungNo.2HydropowerProject(Lawpita Power Station), one of the key hydropower plants in Myanmar, and the first overseas project of Nippon Koei.Since then, the project has entered expansion and rehabilitation plans and presently provides a reliable supply of electricity to millions of people for more than half a century.The Baluchaung Hydropower Project stands as a symbolic cooperation between Japan and Myanmar.
