Location: Based in Sitagu-Chit Thu Hospital, Shwe Koke Ko Myine, Myawady township
Karen Ethnic Health Organization Consortium (KEHOC) is the consortium organized with health
departments of 5 ethnic armed organizations which are the KNU Department of Health and Welfare
(KDHW), KNU/KNLA Peace Council health department, the Democratic Karen Benevolent Army (DKBA)
health department, Karen National Army (KNA) health department, and Karen Peace Force (KPF) health
department. The consortium members coordinate and collaborate with other ethnic health organizations,
and with the Ministry of Health and Sports to effectively serve the health and welfare needs of the
population residing in the Karen EAOs areas.
Sitagu Chit Thu Hospital is in the administration area of KNA, and this hospital serves many vulnerable
communities in the Karen ethnic areas where there are limited health services to enhance the health
status of the communities. It serves all those in need regardless of race, religion, gender, or political
affiliation. It provides services and assistance free of charge to populations in distress, victims of natural
or man-made disasters, and victims of armed conflict.
POSITION SUMMARY: The X-ray Technician is responsible for operating radiologic equipment to produce
high-quality diagnostic images for patient evaluation. This role ensures patient safety, provides
exceptional patient care, and maintains compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. The
technician collaborates with medical staff to support accurate diagnoses and effective treatment.
Additionally, the technician must demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect for the diverse backgrounds
of the Karen and other local communities served by the hospital.
Main duties of the Job
1. Imaging Procedures
• Perform diagnostic X-ray imaging procedures as ordered by physicians.
• Ensure proper positioning of patients and equipment for accurate image capture.
• Adjust technical parameters to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure.
2. Patient Care
• Greet patients and explain procedures to alleviate anxiety and ensure cooperation.
• Verify patient identification and review medical history related to radiologic procedures.

3. Equipment Operation and Maintenance
• Operate and maintain X-ray equipment, ensuring it is in optimal working condition.
• Conduct routine quality control checks and report malfunctions promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and sterility of imaging equipment and workspaces.
4. Documentation and Reporting
• Accurately document imaging procedures and maintain patient records.
• Collaborate with radiologists to ensure accurate interpretation of images.
• Follow hospital protocols for storing and transmitting diagnostic images.
5. Compliance and Safety
• Adhere to all radiation safety guidelines to protect patients, staff, and oneself.
• Comply with hospital policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in training and certification programs as required by local regulations and hospital
standards.
Education and Experiences:
• Qualified degree/certificate from relevant institutions.
• Practicing in the clinical field is preferred.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an X-ray Technician preferred.
• Proficient in operating radiology equipment and digital imaging systems.
• Knowledge of radiation safety standards and infection control protocols.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on cultural sensitivity.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills and Abilities
• Ability to work long hours including nights and weekends and be available for emergencies
• Ability to stay at the workplace, Sitagu-Chit Thu Hospital, Shwe KoKe ko Myine in Myawaddy
township
• Communication skills, compassion, and a good bedside manner
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick, accurate decisions
• Ability to speak, type, write, and read in English and Burmese, preferably Karen as well
• Ability to maintain a good relationship with local communities and other stakeholders
• Excellent team builder or team player
